Finishes are contemporary, elegant, upscale, designer italian with old world warmth. Tuscan “Velatura” hand painted walls “artigiano” style. This has been textured over some walls that are 600-1000 years old with a Faux type unique imprint that dates to the Renaissance – performed by the same “artigiani” that restored the Sienese branch of the Monte Dei Paschi, the first bank in the world. Artwork includes two original “Palio” banners sketched by the late, award winning artist Valacchi, commemorating the 500th anniversary of the Sienese Chiantigiana Academy of Music 1454-1954, and the 500th anniversary birthday of the famed Italian writer Anoglo Poliziano 1456-1956. The amenities throughout are of the highest standard and everything has an Italian contemporary style.
Total estate living space is approximately 35,000 sq ft in two separate structures. The above ground, 15,000 sq ft, 3 ½ story Villa has luxury suites that can accommodate up to 13 couples privately or 26-35+ “family style” with the addition of sofa beds (designer Cassina leather with Flou mattresses and Frette linens). The interiors blend the warmth of home with the services and attention to detail of a 5-star hotel. There is solar powered water heating within home as well as dehumidified, zoned, centralized air conditioning, and heating with recirculation systems with custom window screens. Natural well water is softened, decalcified, and filtered through four separate purification systems. These systems are complemented by two underground storage water cisterns with 70,000 liters water reserve capacity.
The estate is also supported by its own electricity transformer station specifically designed to handle the commercial air-conditioning, and water pumping systems, and to limit surges, lightning outages and trips/breaks otherwise common in the region (10-15x individual local home capacities). This system has been designed with environmental conservation a priority.
There is a large common room with adjoining veranda for meeting functions. The veranda itself, with its breathtaking overlook of the Tuscan hillsides and Appennini mountains, also serves as a dining room for up to 40 guests. Its full glass enclosure is configurable for business meetings as well (includes a 42” mobile plasma screen for PowerPoint presentations), or just to watch favorite movie or sporting events.
The house also has an entertainment suite – with an adjoining business center – to help the corporate quests stay in touch – and there is wired and wireless internet connectivity throughout.
There is also a 20,000 sq ft, underground, multi-purpose, poolside workout, playroom, wine tasting, and event/meeting facility called “La Taverna” -- that includes a suite that can also sleep an additional two adults, or four children. Events for up to 250 people can be customized and “weather proofed” here.
